Evolution of the soul... For those christians who believe that man has a soul, and that humans are the product

of evolution. Are humans the only creatures to have had a soul? Did neanderthal have a soul, certainly they experienced emotions and knew "right" from "wrong". And floresiensis, who existed at the same time as humans, isolated on modern day Indonesia(island). The most recent fossil of this species was estimated to be around 13,000 years old! Did these othe hominids have souls? I also have a question about the descendents in our direct lineage. Evolution is a constant process,always happening and our species is undergoing evolution right now. Our offspring look just like us....however if we zoom out the timescale gradually we see changes. So in evolution a species does not suddely appear, there is a gradient ...a blend and no clear line can be drawn. So if humans are "special" and acquired a soul when did this happen. Did a soulless pre-human give birth to a child with a soul?
