Considering joining the national guard?

I am considering joining the national guard. I have been doing much research and still need some better answers than what their site provides. I plan on moving to upstate NY ( for college) when my lease in NJ is up (august). Is it a better idea to enlist now and do all the training before i move? There are armories located in the same town or near the towns im considering moving to in NY. Is it better to go through the training before i move? Can i train in NJ and then relocate and still serve part time in NY? Also, is it true that having 60 college credits allows you to be a national guard officer, and prevents you from being deployed? Thanks!
